Tuesday Treasure

There's something Fishy about this Treasure Tuesday! We call him Puffy, for obvious reasons. My Mum bought this dried out puffer fish from a shop before I was born, so he's been a part of our shared collection for as long as I can remember. He has fake google eyes, needle sharp spines, an amazingly intact beak, and a little dried up tail and fins.

And while we're talking about fish, I found these little guys while walking the beach at Tannum Sands.I'm not exactly sure what the correct name for these guys is, but they're some kind of box/puffer fish, only 3-4cms long. If anyone knows what they're called, please let me know! After some drying, they came out fabulously and now reside next to Puffy and the other sea treasures in the display cabinet.

  10. Very cute little puffer fish collection, Amanda. They are unusual little guys. My brother caught a puffer fish once. It puffed itself up when it was reeled in - it was very spiky. When we let it go, the puffer was floating along on the surface of the water for a while, before it decided that it was safe to deflate and return underwater.
