Flashback on Paper

So I was going through one of my old note books I'd found in the cupboard (2001-02 I think) and discovered these drawings I did of cartoon pets that were all the rage at the time.
I can't remember what they're called but they were so cool back then. (thanks to a comment by Lynda, I now know they're called Neopets!)
I just couldn't resist a little blog post and a trip down memory lane for those of you who also might remember these things.

brooch display

So remember this frame I bought not long ago? Take out the glass, add some felt, attach owls, viola!
My owl brooch collection is now on display! Well, not all of them, just my favourites...

Meet Cricket

Cricket is the daughter of Jasper and Diego, and the one baby I'll be keeping (although I'd love to keep more!).
She's adorable, and already so tame that I've been taking her on shopping trips!
Jasper and Cricket together, look how little she is!
She takes after her mother in personality and colouring, but maybe when she gets older she'll take on some traits of her dad, like hopefully some orange.
Isn't she cute?! Like a mini-me of Jasper!

warming owls

When you're used to 35 degree (Celsius) days, then 23 degree days are seriously cold by comparasin! Time to start rugging up.
My new owl slippers from Kmart were $6.00 and the flannelette pajama pants were only $8.00.
I couldn't resist this silicon bead heating pack from Sussan either...
They have some wonderful owl products at the moment. I bought a few, then went back the other day for more and they had sold out! So you better hurry if you want some.
And my Mum bought me this new night light as a "just because" present. Isn't it gorgeous?
