Tuesday Treasure

Thanks to the wonderfully talented Clare of Clare's Craftroom, I've signed up to Tuesday's Treasures. It's supposed to be a way to showcase your sentimental treasures, but I have a feeling a few things without any value will work their way in here from time to time. Plus it's a great excuse to get stuff out of the cabinets, cupboards and boxes and play with them again!

When I was born and Dad learned he'd just become the father of a tiny baby girl, he rushed out of the hospital to the gift shop and bought me this -My very first toy. This little Red Panda, who is just the softest most adorable albino red panda ever, was kept special my whole childhood. I only take her out to cuddle on my birthday, and then put her back in her box, which is probably why it took me almost 20 years to realize that she has a squeaker in her belly!
She's also why one of my favourite animals is a red panda.

Prayers Needed!

Most of you who know me know that I love my animals, especially my lizards. Buffy and Jasper were sold to me by a friend, and that friend, who is also a reptile enthusiast and one of our local zoo keepers, is now in need of fervent prayers. What happened is big news, so instead of writing it all out, I'm including a link where you can read what happened.
Please keep Joel in your thoughts and whatever happens, I will update this post to let you all know how everything turns out. God willing the spinal cord wasn't touched and there will be no brain damage. Please be ok...

Hot Water Bottles

One hundred percent organic, self heating, and self recharging. Batteries not needed. Self feeding, but I wouldn't recommend using this option. They vibrate, making a soft soothing sound, with a built in sensor to automatically turn off once you fall asleep. Molded to perfectly fit the contours of your body, they are adjustable to your needs. Also self cleaning with a neat disposable waste system. Best of all, no moving! By morning, they have mysteriously been relocated into another part of the house, most likely found re-warming in a sunbeam.Warning: Do not wash. Do not dry clean.

Annual Show

I went along to the show this year without my camera and had to be content with photographing some of my favourite crafts and cakes with my mobile. Oh well. I know I keep harping on it but I really miss my camera!!
This cake had the most amazing native Australian flowers made from icing!Simply stunning!
Check out this cake, decorated in the shape of spaghetti bolognese in a bowl! How cool is that!?
These pot holders were so sweet. Each had it's own little novelty-shaped button.
This embroidery was the center piece on a patchwork bag.I've seen this design somewhere before!
And last but not least, this sweet little Christmas stocking, embroidered "crazy quilting" style.Great inspiration for all of you participating in any early Christmas crafting!

Graffiti

Check out this zebra I found graffitied on the side of a building -Pretty cool right? So much nicer than the usual gunk you find sprayed around. Sorry about the bad picture, it was taken with my phone.

Snappy Friends Weekly Challenge +

This weeks challenge - Bridges

So because I still don't have my camera back (should be back by Monday, they said) I've combed back through my old files and found these photos. This bridge is part of the Bruce Highway, that travels up the east coast of QLD, that crosses the Fitzroy river. I was lucky to be there to witness this beautiful sunset!

Remember Bruno from my last post? He became too much trouble for me and all the cats to handle, so he went to stay with another foster carer with a bigger yard and no kitties to annoy. In return I got this little angel, Penny.Isn't she cute? A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel X Terrier, she is so well behaved, and almost toilet trained, and sleeps right through the night! I had someone come to look at her today, so hopefully she'll have an "always" home soon.Look, she fits into my jumper pocket! Oh, and see my awesome new owl pajama pants? If you live in Australia, they're available at Kmart for 12 dollars!

Bruno

Worthington was adopted out almost immediately! I then had two of his sisters come and stay with me for one night (all I could handle!) and they were both adopted too! One of his brothers was adopted through us via the pound (never went to a foster carers house) and now all who's left is Bruno. I've no idea why he's the last to go.He's cute, fluffy, has gorgeous eyes, is very well behaved, so intelligent, is such a sweetheart who just wants to be with you all the time, and is very border collie-ish! I can see my beloved Jake in him so much! And he's already learning how to play fetch with sticks!Hopefully Bruno will be adopted by a loving family soon. I know some people who are interested already, and seriously, who could resist this face?!
Now for the Snappy Friends Weekly Challenge!
This weeks challenge is "things that make you go urrrr!"
The fact is, I have no photo, because my camera is still in the shop getting fixed. Honestly, it was just in to get some dust particles removed from inside the lens. How hard can that be? Doesn't it just make you go urrrrr! At least I think that's what urrrr means... So no pic for this challenge, sorry. Hopefully my camera will be back next week so I wont have to borrow a camera to take pictures again.

Worthy

Thankyou for all your congratulations on the birth of my baby niece, Lily. I'm still finding it totally weird to look at my Dad and realize that he's a grandfather!
You remember I mentioned I had something else to share with you?

This is him -
Worthington!

He's a border collie X shoodle (poodle and shitzu) and is staying with us until he finds a good home. In fact, I think he's found one already! A very nice family (turns out I already knew the dad through business) came to look at him this afternoon. I think they all fell in love with him. And how could they not?!Not only is he adorable (and has the biggest paws) but the most intelligent little puppy, and so well behaved! It took him one night to be toilet trained, and one hour to figure out how to manipulate the door into opening so he could come inside. Of course, we're the ones being conned into opening the door! Worthington is staying with us for as long as it takes to find him a good and loving home! Probably until tomorrow.
