Pumpkin Patch
One of the things I love about Spring in Australia, is that up in the Northern Hemisphere it's Autumn and the pumpkin harvest is in full swing! I love pumpkins! Pumpkins to pick, pumpkins to eat, and pumpkins to sew, make and create!
Here's my little pumpkin patch:Pumpkin Pin Toppers! In a pumpkin pincushion, of course...
Also some yummy pumpkin scones fresh from the oven. And because I can, here's a few of my favourite pumpkin tutorials and patterns from around the web. Just click on the picture and it'll take you there!Don't forget to check back tomorrow for Owl About Thursday!

Tuesday Treasure
Today I have something extra special to show you. Something extremely beautiful and delicate, and not without a tragic love story.
These are Venus Flower Baskets -They are seriously lovely to look at up close. You can see the amazing workmanship and love that has gone into producing such a glass like cocoon. Here's the story, click to see it bigger:If you look close, you can even see the claws left behind by the trapped parent shrimps.Terribly fragile, as I was photographing them, I unluckily had some small shards came off and stick into my hands and arms. So I'll be spending the next hour with tweezers pulling them out. Ouch!

Owl About Thursday
Anyone who knows me, knows I love owls. What crafty person doesn't?! So I'm going to start a weekly blog post that will show off some sort of owl, from my own collection to Internet finds and photos I've taken of owls about town. So Welcome to my first Owl About Thursday!
This little guy is my original, the one who started my love affair with all things owly.I found this broach way back in the mid naughties, in an op shop for only 50 cents. I snapped him up, and thus my birdy passion was born! Isn't he wonderful?Anyone is more than welcome to join in, just let me know so I can visit and drool over whatever owl you have on show!

Tuesday Treasure
This week's theme will continue with my treasures from the sea. A small collection of sea urchins that I've found and bought over the years. The large one in back is one that I've recently purchased, as it has a purple hue that is just so gorgeous, I couldn't resist! Most in my collection I have found, but my favorites are the ones that have kept their spikes and spines. I've collected them from all over the eastern beaches of Australia. Most still have sand in them!
Here's some more information on sea urchins, if you're interested in learning more about them.

Home Again
I had been thinking of seeing a surgeon for quite some time, but this wonderful post from Gillian of Silly Gilly really got me thinking, so I booked an appointment, and after 4 months in the making, my operation is now over and done with! A few days stay in hospital, and I was allowed home this morning to recuperate and heal. Pity that my operation happened the day before my birthday, I can't recall most of anything that happened during the first and second day, but I know I am so much smaller and happier! The weight that was pulling my shoulders down is no longer there, and I can lift my neck without too much hurt, which should get better with time. My Doctor took almost 2 kgs, and wow what a difference! To think I had been carrying an extra 2 bags of sugar around my neck! I have gone down from a G to a large C, and the difference it makes is just incredible. And you're right, Gilly, I too am amazed at how much my boobs don't hurt! Anyone thinking of having this operation done, don't hesitate!
Now to get back into the swing of life, with a much lighter load...
