Oil Pastel Owl

Visiting Smiggle a few weeks ago, I decided to buy some oil pastels. My Grandmother uses them in her art and I've always wanted to try them and see what they're like. So I grabbed a six dollar canvas from the dollar store and brought them home, deciding to draw - what else? - and owl.
I started with the oil pastels but they wouldn't fill in the canvas, so I used paint to paint the background colours, then finished all the details with my new oil pastels.

I am seriously happy with how it turned out, especially for my first attempt! I might even buy another canvas and try another one...

Finally I've hung my gorgeous thrifted paint-by-number kitten pictures, and they look fantastic!!

 I've also had the time to hang my gorgeous deer mount and my new owl clock with moving eyes!

And now my bedroom wall with my house display shelf looks like this -

An owl bag, of course...

Ventolin in case my asthma plays up. Tissues. Lip Balm. Deodorant. A stick of foundation. Spare hair ties. Keys. Camera with case and spare battery. Wallet. Mobile Phone with it's case. Last but not least, a small handmade pouch to keep my lip balm, foundation, etc in.

Eclipse

Who caught the eclipse at the last full moon?

 Even though I was sick (hence the lateness of this post) I couldn't help risking the cold so I could get some pictures. Simply beautiful!
