Today my treasure is a beautiful old watch which belonged to my Grandmother.I never knew my Dad's Mum. I was 3 weeks old when we attended her funeral. I don't think she even knew that my Mum was pregnant, as she had had Alzheimer's for years before I was born. I wish I could have known both my Dad's parents.
Dad says I get my cooking skills from my Nan, and often talks about the wonderful food he remembers her making when he was a child. He passed this watch onto me about 7 years ago, and I have treasured it ever since. It truly is and will continue to be a family heirloom!(Please ignore the bite marks and bruise on my wrist. Spike the water dragon bit me last week.)

That is the most beautiful watch and is indeed a treasure ! Thanks for playing .
What a lovely heirloom to remind you of your nan.
What a beautiful family treasure... thank you for sharing that wonderful family history with us.
Your Nan's watch is so delicate. They certainly don't make them like that any more. It is more a piece of jewellery than a utilitarian object.
It is so nice to see such a beautiful piece of jewellery and have such a great story behind it.... so great you have it even though you don't remember your nan... Hugz

Beautiful watch and the photo is so lovely too. They have lovely expressions.
Your watch is so beautiful Amanda and so special that you were given it. Nice to see the bite marks are looking better and the swelling has gone down too. xx
So nice to have a momento to hold on to. I also have a watch from my Mom's mom. I used to wear it everyday, but now it has stopped working, so I keep it safe in my beading cabinet. I have a ring of hers as well that I do still wear, and I just like the connection I feel when I wear it.
Such a lovely watch. I love marquisite (sp?)
