Most of you will remember my post from a few months ago about how my beautiful border collie dog, Jake, passed away.
In the vet's waiting room was a stuffed toy dog which they had hidden "ticks" on, to try and show people how difficult they are to find. While waiting for the vet to complete tests on that terrible day, all I could do was to hug that toy dog close and cry. When we learned that Jake had passed away, we were devastated.
My wonderful vet Terry, the same vet that neutered Jake all those years ago, knew how much Jake meant to my family and I. When we collected his collar the next day, Terry gave me that stuffed dog who looked so much like my boy.
I took the original collar off and he now wears the one that belonged to Jake. Registration tags and all.
This stuffed dog and Jake's collar are both treasures I will always cherish! I miss you Jake...
