DIY Hurricane Candle Holder

I found some great owl napkins while out shopping a week ago. I bought a pack and set them in a drawer until I could decide what to make with them.
May I introduce my handmade cheap-as-chips hurricane candle holder!
What you'll need:
  • Paper napkins of your choosing.
  • Mog Podge Matte finish or a clear-drying glue.
  • A glass jar of your choosing (make sure the opening is large enough for heat to escape).
  • An embellishment like ribbon or twine.
  • One tea-light candle.
 Instructions:
  1. Open your paper napkin and cut the picture to fit around the jar. Peel off the two layers of plain paper on the back of the napkin so it's tissue paper thin.
  2. Mod Podge your glass jar all the way around then gently lay the napkin onto the glue and press into position.
  3. Wait to dry then gently apply a layer of Mod Podge over the top of the napkin, taking care nto to tear it.
  4. Once dry, add your final embellishment to the top of the jar. I used twine and tied it into a bow.
  5. Put your candle inside and light it.
Viola! Your very own customized hurricane candle holder!
Beware, never leave candle alone while burning. Do not leave alone with children. Glass may get hot.

G'day Amanda. How fabulous, that looks great. Well done. I have just returned from the chemist in town here and saw the most cutest owl napkin holder. Parts of it were cut out and they had bright red napkins in it and the red showed through the cut out bits, like parts of the eyes and some chest and wing areas. Take care. Liz...

Brilliant! I love it! I've got stacks of Moccona coffee jars at home, maybe I could use them in this project.
